We see the child

behind the student.

The Garzón School is renowned for its warm, welcoming and nurturing environment. Our exemplary, individualised care and support underpins everything we do. We know that wellbeing is a crucial aspect of every child’s development; it has a significant impact on overall health, happiness, and success in life. This is why our students’ physical, emotional, social and mental health is at the core of our practice and informs every decision we take.

Our focus on wellbeing means creating a safe, supportive and positive learning environment where each student feels valued and respected. We achieve this in a number of different ways:

  • Strong student-teacher relationships which promote positive interactions and provide continued emotional support

  • Focus on development of lifelong healthy habits through our schoolwide Wellness & Movement programme

  • Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) delivered in-house by experts as a compulsory component of the our curriculum

  • Positive peer-to-peer relationships that form the foundation of our interactions, community and sense of belonging

  • Guidance for students to reframe challenges as opportunities for growth, building resilience and a positive sense of self

“We promote wellbeing with the intention of ensuring our students are equipped with the skills, attitudes and habits necessary to grow into confident, healthy, happy individuals.”

Catalina Garat, TGS Educational Psychologist

The Garzón School’s fully inclusive environment ensures all our students feel welcome, valued, and supported, regardless of their background, abilities, or differences. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all students, including those with disabilities, cultural or linguistic differences, and other individual needs. We reflect diversity by celebrating different cultures and perspectives. Students, teachers and families work in unison to create a nurturing environment where every student can thrive.

Our highly-qualified educators use a variety of teaching strategies and provide personalised support to meet the individual needs of all students. This includes adapting materials, providing assistive technology, and offering extra support as needed. Our positive school climate fosters a sense of belonging and connectedness, underpinned by clear behavioural expectations, promoting positive interactions, and addressing bullying and discrimination promptly and effectively.

Fall in love with learning again.
